Our China Special Needs program is a vital and active program. We are able to find referrals for families very quickly and because of this we have had many families who were formerly adopting through the traditional China program make the decision to switch to the special needs program. The turnaround from accepting a referral to receiving a Letter of Invitation is approximately 6 months. Note: Upon request, WIA will disclose the following: Service policy Contracts, the number of adoption placements per year for the prior 3 calendar years, the number of placements that remain intact, the number of families who apply to adopt each year, and the number of waiting children eligible for adoption.
