Wasatch Adoptions has been very involved with the country of Guatemala for many years. Because we work with many different attorneys we are able to help in many different ways. There is also a special friend of WIA’s who heads our Orphan Bridge foundation. For many years, Jane Fuller of El Paso, Texas, has worked tirelessly for Orphan Bridge to raise funds for the children of Guatemala. She has been instrumental in raising many thousands of dollars that have been spent on behalf of the children living in orphanages. We are grateful to Jane for her hard work and dedication to the children of the world who have so little and need so much. Below are some of the projects WIA has been involved with and which have been funded by Jane’s work with Orphan Bridge over the past 8 years.

Medical Project

Partnering with the Rotary Club and the Swanson Foundation, both located in Ogden, Utah, and the L.D.S. Church, headquartered in Salt Lake City, Utah, Wasatch Adoptions was able to gather medical equipment and supplies for a free medical clinic in Guatemala City that offers services to people who could not otherwise obtain medical help. The supplies sent to Guatemala City filled an entire shipping container and when installed in the clinic in Guatemala City they made an enormous difference in the ability of the doctors on staff to attend to the medical needs of the people who come to the clinic.

Fluoride Supplies

In 2005, Kathy Kaiser and Chareyl Moyes carried $5,000 in fluoride tablets donated from local dentists in the Ogden, Utah area. These fluoride tablets were then given to the Casa Guatemala orphanage to help the children keep their teeth strong and healthy.

Miscellaneous Donations

Over the years WIA has donated clothing, diapers, medicine, shoes, bedding and other items to both orphanages in Guatemala and to private attorneys who place the babies private Hogars. We have also donated washers, dryers, water purifying equipment, refrigerators and baby items to these places.

WIA is partnering with Casa Guatemala orphanage to help fund cleft palate surgery for orphaned children living at Casa Guatemala. If you are interested in helping change the life of one of these children with a cleft palate repair, please contact us.
